 Georgia O'Keefe Keith Haring Video Essay Questions As I begin to think about the video essay, I know that I would like to focus on an artist who focuses on the idea of connection between gender and artistic expression. Some questions I have started to think of is how the artist's unique life leads to specific artistic choices. Additionally, I am wondering how different versions of artistic expression (i.e. music, visual art, etc) combine to create an artist's persona. With these questions I feel prepared to start researching!

      As I continued to work on my collage, the process became clearer and clearer. I started with the overall idea of those who came before me- my past experiences and people I have been around make me the person that I am today. Additionally, it is the work of woman before me that allow me to enjoy the life that I do today. From there I moved onto researching in the library- specifically in the Vogue periodicals and different encyclopedias. I was drawn to different faces, but I chose to cover all the faces with flowers to highlight the idea of anonymity and how although it is because of the people who came before me that I am who I am, I still stand on my own.      Going off of that idea I wanted to bring in the prompt of self and focus on who I am as a person.
